About

Together with Trends/Trends-Tendances, Credendo has created the third edition of the “Global Risk Atlas” for a special edition of The Economist.

The atlas provides an overview of the main risks facing our world and exporters today: geopolitics, the rise of populism, demographic transition, climate change and compliance rules.

In this webinar, we will look at the impacts of geopolitical risks, with a specific focus on the USA.

David Criekemans

Associate Professor in International Relations at the University of Antwerp

Dr. David Criekemans is Associate Professor International Relations at the University of Antwerp focusing on Geopolitics, Foreign Policy Analysis and Diplomatic Studies. He also teaches at the Geneva Institute of Geopolitical Studies, the University College Roosevelt in Middelburg (Utrecht University), and Blanquerna, Ramon Lull University in Barcelona.

During the academic year 2024-2025, he is a Visiting Professor ‘Geopolitical Schools of Thought’ at Charles University (Prague). In 2005, he established together with Dr. Gyula Csurgai the annual Summer Course in ‘Geopolitics’ in Geneva (GIGS), running each year in mid-July. Since 2021, he is also book series editor of the book series ‘Geopolitics and International Relations’ with De Gruyter Brill. That year he also published the first book in this series ‘Geopolitics and International Relations. Grounding World Politics Anew’.

Nabil Jijakli

Group Deputy CEO @ Credendo

Nabil Jijakli is Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Credendo and of Credendo – Export Credit Agency. Before joining Credendo in 2010, Nabil Jijakli worked for 21 years at the National Bank of Belgium (Belgian central Bank), where in his last position he was the Secretary General of the Financial Stability Committee (2007 – 2010) during the financial crisis. He has been also responsible for the coordination of the euro introduction in Belgium (1997 – 2003) and has worked for three years as expert at the European Commission (2004 – 2007) to prepare the euro changeover in the new member states.

Raphaël Cecchi

Senior Country and Sector Risk Analyst @ Credendo

Raphael Cecchi is the Asia expert within Credendo. In the framework of the OECD, Raphael is part of the Country Risk Experts Group for Asia. He is also the expert for the Balkan countries and has expertise in geopolitics and climate risks.

Andres Hernandez Cardona

Country and Sector Risk Analyst @ Credendo

Andres Hernandez Cardona joined Credendo in 2020. As a Country and Sector Risk Analyst, he monitors the developments and identifies the risks within the MENA region. He is also part of the Country Risk Expert Group for this region.
